Authorities from all the country and also from abroad mark presence in the opening ceremony

A great public was present in the opening of the 20th edition of Expodireto Cotrijal, in Não-Me-Toque, in the morning of this Monday (March 11th). The ceremony had an optimist perspective concerning the amount of business, with the presence of many authorities from the country and abroad, and a record number of journalists. The fair comprises 534 exhibitors and the expectation is of a commercialization superior to R$ 2 billion.

The official opening ceremony occurred in the Central Auditorium, with emphasis on the presence of the vice-president of the Republic, Hamilton Mourão, who congratulated the direction of Cotrijal for the grandiosity of the fair and highlighted the commitment of the federal government with the agribusiness.

“We have in our country around 5 million rural producers, the most part without access to research, development and technology. Our Embrapa needs to support again, indeed, the men and women of the countryside”, declared Mourão.

The minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Tereza Cristina, reported that the agriculture is one of the activities which more involves technology, becoming an engine of the Brazilian economy. Attending to a request of the sector, she said that the federal government works to offer a new Program of Modernization of the Fleet of Agricultural Tractors and Associate Implement and Harvesters (Moderfrota).

“R$ 3,5 billion before the new Crop Plan. This is the request of this sector which has increasingly brought the technology to the countryside”, highlighted Tereza Cristina.

The funding of the sector was also pointed out by the president of Cotrijal, Nei César Mânica. He emphasized the necessity of extending the complementary resources for the acquisition of machinery and equipment.

“We hope now that the government look at it carefully so that, in the first semester, the productive sector will have attended to a request of supplementation. As the fair is a stage for claims, for the smile of the vice-president and the minister, we believe we will be attended”, joked Mânica, receiving applauses from all people present.

The governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite, called the attention for the competitiveness of the sector and the difficulties of the producers. He highlighted the capacity of the rural producers of standing out in front of difficulties.

“We are in a fair which is about our agribusiness and always when I have the opportunity to talk to people dedicated to agriculture, I do so recognizing that they are launching themselves in an enterprise on which they depend, besides of their own effort, also of the weather. The ones who work in the agriculture are under the imponderable. And that must be recognized”, said Leite.

Others who also participated of the opening ceremony were the mayor of Não-Me-Toque, Pedro Paulo Falcão da Rosa; the president of the Legislative Assembly of Rio Grande do Sul, Luis Augusto Lara; the senators Luis Carlos Heinze and Lasier Martins. Altogether, there were 15 state deputies, seven federal deputies, six State secretaries and the ambassadors of Nigeria, Gabon, Benin and South Africa.

The fair goes on until Friday (March 15th), in the park of Expodireto Cotrijal, in Não-Me-Toque. The expectation if of about 265 thousand visitors in this edition of the event.
