“Women who cooperate can do everything!”, shouted, united in a colorful web of union and acknowledgement, the dozens of women from the region who are part of the cooperative and who participated from the 3rd Meeting Women who Cooperate. The event, that is a partnership between the System Ocergs-Sescoop/RS, City Council of Não-Me-Toque and Cotrijal, marked the second day of Expodireto in Não-Me-Toque.

The activity directed to the female public of the fair, has the purpose of showing the power of the women and it has become traditional among them. In the opening, the president of Cotrijal, Nei César Mânica, reinforced the importance of women. He stated that the women must participate of the management of the property, of the cooperative and of the Cotrijal family.

Enio Schroeder, vice-president of Cotrijal, highlighted that events such as this one intend to highlight the important role of the women in the agribusiness. “It is good that they are gaining more place inside the cooperatives too”, he said.

The president of the City Council of Não-Me-Toque, Carlos Alberto Bacher, remembered that when he lived in the countryside, to help in the finances, his mother started to help his father in the activities with the dairy production and this was one of the first examples of the strength and willpower of the women.

Young girl who wants to remain in the property

Reflecting about the “Role of the Woman in the Cooperative”, the technical analyst from the Sescoop/RS, Ubiracy Barbosa Ávila, started the talk which counted with the reports of three teenagers who already act in a cooperative way. Taíza Naiara Worst, 14 years old, daughters of associated members of Cotrijal, highlights that many youngsters from the field still see as the only perspective the changing to the urban environment, but that she intends to study and follow the steps of her parents.

“I help in the basic tasks of the property, such as feeding the animals, which I like to do, and I am always learning with my parents. Today I talk about the encouragements for the young people to remain in the countryside, such as creating a Young Learner of the Countryside, more encouragement at schools in the primary grades and also by the part of the families”, highlights the girl, honored with a sign during the event.

Together to be more strong

The second lecture was about the “Cooperative Principles, an exercise of living with the Cooperativism”, with Roberto Gonçalves Martini. Master in Educational Psychology, he brought, through a dynamic activity of the cooperative network, the reflection about the strength of the woman.

When arriving, each one of the participants received two pieces of fabric, which later were tied up one in another, creating a big web which collaboratively could not let some balls fall – which with words such as information, education, autonomy, collaboration, represented the keys of cooperativism.

“The woman works miracles”

Vergílio Perius, president of the System Ocergs-Sescoop/RS, highlighted the importance of educational cooperatives and he believes that the presence of the woman in the cooperative system is essential. “The woman works miracles, in the middle of a triple work period, and builds a cooperative process more solid, stable, firm, more collaborative and much more, I would say, cooperative”, stated the professor.

Surprised during the event, the advisor representative of the Leaders of the Central Region of Cotrijal, Roveni Doneda, received a sign of acknowledgement for her work with the cooperative. “The agribusiness has opportunities for women, girls and for young people and they need to be considered. Each time we help more in the cooperatives and I invite all the other women to be part of the Cotrijal, as associated members. I am very happy for this ackowledgement. I can only thank you all,” confessed Rovani, with a big smile.

RELEASE – In the opportunity, it also occurred the release of the magazine Special moment Expodireto Cotrijal: women of the Agro in Action, which counted the story of the strength of different cooperative associated members and their life stories.
