Reference in direct planting in Brasil and in the world, the agricultural engineer and researcher Dirceu Gassen changed lives and destinies through his life. Dynamic, inspiring and passionate for his work, he received many tributes in this edition of Expodireto.

In the stand of Semeato, an exhibition with photos taken by the master Dirceu reveals his different perspective in relation to agriculture. The photos were selected by the wife Elaine Gassen. The opening ceremony of the display, on this Tuesday, 12th, in the stand of the company, reunited admirers, family members, friends and it was marked by the emotion. He passed away in September of 2018.

“We shared everything, but we did not have the dimension of his work. I have no words to express my gratitude”, declared Elaine. “Gratitude is what defines this moment”, completed Carolina, one of the daughters. “He was my life brother and an outstanding professional”, stated Sérgio Schneider, researcher and long-standing friend, with whom he had worked for 40 years.

The legacy left by Gassen is eternalized also in Hall of Fame of the Agro. He is one of the 20 personalities of the sector who were essential in the history of Expodireto Cotrijal and which are honored in the garden of the fair, with bronze plaques.

In the stand of Plant Production and Cotrijal Seeds, a plaque in acknowledgement to the importance of the researcher attracts the attention of the visitors. “He united in a unique way the scientific knowledge in the area on which he was graduated. All he did he did with passion”, highlighted the superintendent of Production of Agriculture and Livestock, Gelson Melo de Lima.

“Gassen left an undeniable contribution. In all his lectures, in Expodireto, the house was always full”, said the vice-president of Cotrijal, Enio Schroeder.
