A daily small gesture can make the difference. The sentence was said by the president of the System Ocergs-Sescoop/RS, Vergilio Perius, in the release of the Day C to Cooperate, on this Wednesday (13th). The action is considered the largest cooperative network of volunteering in Brazil and it consists in uniting people who dedicate themselves to others.

The director of the syndicate of Ocergs, Irno Pretto, remembered the importance of actions which aim to affect positively the life of others: “we are more united in the cooperative spirit and it is through it that we keep united” For Margaret Cunha, director of Ocergs, the solidarity is in the DNA of the cooperativism and it works only when two pillars are together: the economic and social. “Day C is every day, because the cooperative is inserted in the community and it is there that we need to be involved.”, she highlighted.

The president of Cotrijal, Nei César Mânica, emphasized that one act can seem to be insignificant for the one who does it, but it is extremely meaningful to the one who receives it. “It is like this that the Day C reaches thousands of people in all Brazil. Small gestures that can be done every day, such as a smile, a hug, a kiss on a dear person, can make a lot of difference in people’s lives”, said the president.

In the field of operation of Cotrijal, the actions of Day C have made a difference on people’s lives. The vice-president of the cooperative, Enio Schroeder, presented some of the last campaigns promoted. The Warm Clothing Campaign, which have collected more than ten thousand pieces of clothing donated to the entities in the region. The cooperative blitz, which involved all the community of Não-Me-Toque in the National Week of Traffic. The campaign “Do you want a hug"”, a very successful initiative in 2018 and which comes back to instigate the population to distribute hugs, intending to transform through love and union. In the year of 2019, the Day C in Cotrijal will also count with a campaign of blood donation.

To distribute love feels good

Lívia Lemos Ulrich (14 years old), president of the school cooperative of the Municipal School Marcílio Dias, from São José da Glória, in Victor Graeff, was received with an affectionate hug in the activity and she congratulated the initiative of the campaign from Cotrijal. “It is always good to receive a hug, give a hug, see a smile in the people’s faces and exchange love. It is very nice!”, commented the young girl. The professor Dirce Kronbauer was surprised of being received with the affection of the campaign. “I like the hug, I like to hug. This campaign is very interesting, because the hug unites people”, she said.

Besides Cotrijal, other cooperatives that are part of the System Ocergs-Sescoop/RS presented their action for the Day C to Cooperate, which in 2019 will be on July 6th and the registration of the initiatives can be done until April 30th, in the site of the campaign (diac.somoscooperativismo.coop.br/).
